Having the opportunity to use my creative talents to contribute positively to the people around me is one of the most rewarding things about being a community artist. Through my art, I can inspire and bring joy to those in my community, and it is a truly fulfilling experience for me. I also gain a great deal of inspiration from connecting with others who share my passion for art and creativity. I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the community as an artist.
Below is a collection of images and media that showcase the projects I've been a part of in Butte County.
Partnering with Paradise Arts Theatre and Cultural Hub (PATCH), Bobbie Rae Jones facilitated a collaborative chalk drawing with her Butte College students and community members at the Gold Nugget Museum in Paradise CA. November 5-11th, 2023.
Butte College drawing students assisted Professor Bobbie with the design and primary layout of the imagery.
During the event, attendees participate in creating and adding additional imagery.
Bobbie participates with Land Acknowledgment and Social Dance.
The Dance Group performs the Afro-Carribean dance of water. Bobbie as a dancer celebrates performing water with African-originated dance styles, Yemaya and Yanvalou.
Participants join in with music and dance. Bobbie plays percussion with musicians.
"The All-Seeing Eye", represents in our environment what we have seen, what we see now, and what we will see and imagine for our Earth for our future. The salmon plays a big part in water justice in NorCal.
Board Member Bobbie Rae Jones of Drawing On Earth assists with building thriving communities through the visual arts at The Street-Art Fair: Paint The Town Greenville. Celebrating the resilience of residents of the town of Greenville and the surrounding communities affected by the 2020 Dixie wild fire disaster in and around Plumas County in Northern California, she facilitates a large-scale chalk drawing at the one-year memorial event.

IN THE WAKE OF MULTIPLE DISASTERS
Through the arts, we are building community across the burn scar. The chalk drawings were inspired by Mark Lewis Wagner of Drawing on Earth at Children's Community Charter School in Paradise and Rock House Dining and Espresso in Concow.
GLOBAL CREATIVE CHALLENGE - PARADISE, CA & CONCOW, CA
The Singing Tree Project through the Unity Through Creativity Foundation assisted Bobbie Rae Jones as a Singing Tree Project™ Facilitator, and the community of Chico to create this mural in our beloved community. Healing through arts and peace-building with a national network of artists and art educators.
In just 13 hours, we created a statement of heart and mind "The Singing Tree Mural of Reproductive Freedom that Restores Mother Earth" with 31 youth from all over the nation at an event addressing our worlds biggest problems engagingsolution-based minds.
For this online residency in 2021, teaching artist Bobby Rae Jones collaborated with a sixth-grade teacher in Cedarwood Elementary to create mosaics that integrated with a unit on Roman history. The Mosaic medium was one of the most important two-dimensional art forms to the Romans. Lessons utilized key Roman imagery such as the eagle. The Mosaic pieces will be joined to create one collaborative work in the school library to teach Relationship Skills.
