Bobbie’s fans are talking about her and their experience with her... take a look!
I heard about Bobbie Rae Jones from a friend, she said we should be friends, we have lots in common. Bobbie Rae is a real creative spirit and is super creative in all aspects of her life. I have watched her move into being a college professor which takes a lot of focused work, the ability to create a curriculum, and to deliver live and interact with students on all levels of being an artist. Bobbie Rae has been so interested in my nonprofit Drawing On Earth that she has become a Board Member and taken DOE into her community creating several large events bringing people together to be creative and in one case to help heal from an epic fire. Bobbie Rae is curious, interested, interesting, a good listener, and has a true heart of a compassionate human being.
In addition to being a fine artist, Bobbie is also a fine human being. She has worked personally to find housing for many who have lost their homes in the fires here in the North State. I remember seeing a piece she did for a show that was a Memorial to the 2018 Paradise fire. She actually used small burned pieces that she had found on-site there. It was a mixture of tragedy and recovery, with rich texture and surprising additions of color. I had to have it. I still look at it and experience the whole range of emotions of that time, from great loss and sorrow to great community empathy and generosity. Like all her work, it is a powerful piece.
